Wow! This looks like a great deal ….

I’m in no position to even consider something like this right now but just out of interest – this is a 4×5 camera, right? Or can you do 8×10 with the right film back or something?

Good luck with the sale …..

Hi, Hugh. It has a 4×5 rear standard and film holders, but it can be converted to 8×10 with an 8×10 rear standard and the 4×5 to 8×10 bellows (It cost €2-300 if you can find the parts, plus film holders, which are dearer).

I’ve got an offer from Martin in PM, will see what he thinks about my reply…

For sale again… Martin didn’t like the idea of shooting one frame at a time.

“Martin didn’t like the idea of shooting one frame at a time.”

I dont think thats correct:-) its a 5×4 I think i knew that the camera shoots one piece of film at a time….

Reason being is that after some thought over a few days and after seeing it I just came to the conclusion that the camera would not help me take better pictures. I have a few medium format cameras already and the 5×4 for the type of shots I do will not improve the shots I take I think

One of the main advantages of larger format is the movements. I dont need these and yes theres a larger negative but my Mamiya gives me a 70mm negative do I really need bigger, the largest I print is 16×12 which all my medium format cameras do no problem. Being able to dev each shot separately is an advantage but I have multiple film backs for my Mamiya which I mark N+1, n+2 etc…. I think if I was to buy it I would be buying a toy and I dont want to become a camera collector. its allot of money too so there has to be solid reasons for me spending the money and a toy aint one….

Its a lovely camera though, in great condition and if you need the movements and other things that 5×4 has to offer its a steal at this price

    All the best

You are right Martin, you have too many cameras already… and yes, the 6×7 pictures can be enlarged quite well.

At least you got an idea about large format. It’s not called large for nothing.

JB is already giving me ideas on how could I convert my camera to 12×16 or 16×24 :D
He is the Devil, I’m telling you..

I could be really temped by this if someone buys my Bronica …

So, what else would I need to get in order to be able to take photographs with the reduced set you are offering? Some film holders? Other stuff? I’m not that well up on LF ….
