Impromptu set taken with my friend Kay…just across the road from her place…with my spanking new 40D….which kinda means she popped it’s cherry…

PS: the compression quality is bad…i’m lazy and resized ’em with MSPAINT…im sure the L+Raw files look much better…

I would like to give an intelligent opinion with analysis on these shots, but I have no experience in portraiture and so have not developed a feel for it.
    But for what its worth…
#1 I think is great, great use of light, and church. I do wonder what it would look like if the model was engaging the camera.
    #2 not for me
#3 is good, but her arm is chopped and the right is a bit wasted. Perhaps more centred on the model would have worked better.
    That’s what I thinking.

No. 1 – I love, I would love to see it without the vignetting to see if that works better, personally I am not a huge fan of it but everyone is different
No. 2 – I like the idea of it but the light is too much and I feel drowns the model out of the picture.
No. 3 – Is lacking something, I just can’t quite put my finger on it at the moment but it is good. I wonder what it would look like if there was a little more light coming from the back of the model.

All in all they are great pictures. Good work :)

    1.like it
2.way too much light but great idea
3.I would probibly pull the model back so the light on her hair crossed her face

overall I like the way you were thinkin!

I too like the first the best. The flare in the second helps a lot.
