    Hi all,

It’s been a while since I have been able to post. I managed to get out last Sunday week, December 1st. The morning was stunning, but as always it lasts for about 5 to 6 minutes. I captured about 8 panoramics, I think this one was the better one of them all.

This was the first morning in a while that beeker40 joined me. Much better than being out on your own. Hope you enjoy.

Thanks Isabella, its all very well to say the sun rises in the East. But at this time of year its really South East, almost from the direction of London. There really is a limited number of locations on the East coast to capture that angle. In fairness though the weather has been favorable.

    Thanks again.

Nice shot and a difficult location to capture , I know it well. Great tonal range and nice crispness through the image. The sky speaks for itself and is nicely exposed. My only crit would be that the islands and a little small in the image. Is it a cropped version of a single image taken wide or a photo stitch?. I would try for stitch and zoomed in a little to bring the islands out. Not to much but just enough for the to become a bigger feature in the image. Likewise I would be tempted to omit the landmass on the top right but that just a personal preference. Good work thought, I like it.

Ras, thanks for you comments. I mostly shoot pano’s, so you could say that my format of shooting is fairly close to shooting film. All my image are shot fully manual, and using individual frames. I know my exposures or OK for the most part, I then get to assemble the pano on my return to the digital darkroom. I use Lightroom and Autopano Giga to stitch my images.

This particular image was shot with my 70-200 and consists of two rows, using 35 frames in total, then cropped.
