    Hi all,

Never quite sure how to categorize these types of shots.

BW conversion done with NIX Silver Efex Pro Trial version (Aperture Plugin).

    yea I like this stephen,

lovely range of tones there and the dark edges are nice too.

Nice composition but just a tiny winy think for me is your point
of shooting is just a tad too high, the top of the chair is in line with the horizon,
a slight crouch down would have raised the top above the horizon more.

    still a really good image.

    Hi aoluain,

Thanks for the comments. Your spot on about the horizon line and the top of the bench. There’s something about this that I like so I might go back and get it right.

Also, looking at it again the horizon line is a bit wonky.

    Thanks

A nice image for sure, hadn’t noticed the point Alan made above until I read his post, now I can’t stop noticing it !!!

The vignetting may be a tad heavy handed for me but the conversion is great, how do you find Silver Efex ? Read some good reviews in AP but haven’t d/l’d the trial yet. Seems a tad dear to me as a colour conversion tool…..

    Hi Pete,

Thanks for the comments. I never use vignetting, so I’m going to town on it at the moment. I really like Silver effects pro, at $199 it is a tad expensive just for making BW shots. However, the full set of Nik software is only another $100 you can get the whole Nik set of software (5 products) and I believe the rest of their products for colour control and the like are very good.
