HelenParticipant
This is my little daughter Rowena – I just love taking photos of her and its easy to do when she is as still as this.
I was tinkering around with photoshop and added a frame which I don’t think you can see very well.
Helen
AllinthemindParticipantHelenParticipantNot being doing soo good on the nights lately hopefully just a phase.
Helen
RavenAshMemberGot the cute factor going on in this shot.
Rowena will need a new hair stylists’ if she wishes to go further with her modeling career.
HelenParticipantFor the moment Rowena has to make do with her mother.
:D :D :D :D :D :DsummerdreamnMemberrowena is my mum’s name! :) love the sleeping shot, it’s the only time my daughter stays still too.
HelenParticipantIts a beautiful name summer.
My husband loved it since he read Ivanhoe as a child. Its a name that always stayed with him.
I am trying to develop patience in photographing her – someday she might actually sit still for me
Helen
elludeParticipant“someday she might actually sit still for me…”
I have the same problem trying to photograph my son, and I think it gets worse as they get older (now almost three).
Here’s one thing I’ve tried that works reasonably well. First, switch your tv to the cartoon network or whatever, turn up the volume and then put the set on standby. Later, when your child is in the room and playing on the floor, quietly take up position close to the tv set, remote control in hand. Figure out the exposure you will need and get ready to take a picture. Now hit the remote and switch on the tv. The kid will nearly always swing around to stare at the screen, and you should have 10 seconds or more of them sitting still and looking in your direction to snap away.
HelenParticipantThank you for that tip ellude, will try it another day
but I did distract her the other day with the telly and so got down on the floor and kept clicking
kinda like this one
elludeParticipantAh, a Winnie the Pooh fan, lol. The telly definitely seems to hold their attention and let you get a shot. Have you tried doing this during daylight hours? It might make for better light in the background,
HelenParticipantWinnie the Pooh is great! even love him myself.
I did take this during the day but the curtain was drawn behind which is just as well as the house is a mess behind her. Yikes! Taking pictures when I should be hoovering.
Helen
summerdreamnMemberYikes! Taking pictures when I should be hoovering.
ha, ha! in my case it’s doing the laundry! but i’m trying to train her early ;)
HelenParticipantSummer
your little girl is gorgeous! Ahhhhhhh
You have to post more pics of this little beauty. Maybe we should ask Mark for a category for proud parents.
Helen
rimagirlMemberHelen, you have beautiful baby, real Sleeping Beauty :)
