Slide, colour neg, both, none ?

Hi, just wondering if people are shooting colour film, and if so what, whether it is colour negatives or slides, and what your views are on either.

I like the results I get from my dslr for colour, but both prefer film cameras when it comes to both carrying and shooting them, thus every so often my curiousity to shoot a little colour film grows, before writing it off as too awkward or costly.

I’m curious to hear the thoughts of those who still or have shot colour slides or negatives

I shoot 120 colour negative film and print via the RA4 process in my darkroom. Developing the film (C41) is no harder than B&W and much cheaper than using labs. Kodak Portra is a favourite of mine for portraits.

I have not used transparency film in a while but hope to get back into soon. Again developing the film (E6) is easy.

Negative film is more forgiving for exposure errors but a correctly exposed transparency is simply stunning. I can’t comment on how they compare when scanned as its something I don’t do.
