Slide Film

Usually processing is included in the price of the film. Most good camera shops will take it for processing, but some have a lee-time of about 1 week.
When you get the slides back however, make sure that you have something good to view them on.
Best bet, but most expensive is a slide projector, but you can also get good handhelds with 2.5 by 2.5 inch screens, beware however that the power of the light source in the viewer might not give an accurate rendition of the image.

shrapnelMemberi’ve got a few velvia 135 100F 36 in my freezer, i’ll happily part with one for a few euros (will check how much i paid, but certainly didn’t pay more than 5 euros a roll ), so that you can try that one out if you like. Drop me a pm if you’re interested
AimeeParticipantwell, sounds good there.. would you accept a bit of shrapnel
(awful joke I know… but how could I resist?)CrowdedHouseParticipantDoes the process paid Sensia available from 7dayshop etc. ‘work’ in Ireland ?
Presumably it has to be sent to the UK for processing, will they post it back to Ireland ?

For processing – do I just bring it into my local shop??
When I lived in Dublin and shot slide I always brought my film to FILM BANK, 102 Lower Baggot St., Dublin 2 , TEL: 01 662 4420 FAX: 01 662 6220 EMAIL: filmbankmac.com. I’ve used them by mail as well but it’s been a while now and I honestly don’t know if they are still in existence. I used to work nearby so their three hour turnaround suited me fine. I never bothered with the mounting, preferring instead to mount the slides myself, only mounting what was worth keeping (cheaper and saves space – no point in mounting a whole roll of crap slides!)
beansParticipantI’m assuming one can get a roll of slide film developed to CD in much the same way as you could a roll of negative?
AimeeParticipantHey Thorsten,, thanks for the contact details…
I called that number and got an eircom not in service message
So I’m presuming they have indeed gone bust…

:(It wouldn’t surprise me. There can’t have been too much demand for slide film processing in recent years, although they processed pretty much all formats – 135, 126 and 7×5 sheet film. If they are gone that would be a real shame. :(

AimeeParticipantWell crowded house I have no odea if 7dayshop include developing in the price, but boy was that an expensive roll of slide film in the end. total including price of film dev and prints.. about e50.
Think I would be more careful abuot what i shoot next time
:)CrowdedHouseParticipant:o
Where did you get them done – you could have them in dlab7.com for 10 sterling dev and 6×4 prints.
I just get mine developed there, scan them and get great 12×8 prints from foto.com for 50c each
AimeeParticipantI got them done in Conn’s. 36 75c per 6*4. I got the negs dev first which i think was about ?7.
My first set of slide film.. so i suppose it’s a learnign curve. That’s a pretty good price.
How much is the postage etc?Do scan the negs or the prints?
