I got a ‘snoot’ to add to my studio gear from Paddy Barker today. I think this is how to use it? Any advise greatly appreciated.
This is my good lady wife Edel.

    Hi Pat,

As I often mention I have no practical or learned knowledge of this type
of photography but I think every post deserves some sort of comment.

This looks very nice to my eye.
The background looks good and it has a pleasing composition.

You seem to be producing some good results with your new setup.

Well done and all the best,

    John.

Thanks for the reply John, and I must say I am in the same boat as yourself with regard to
making an informed response to this kind of image, other than whether I like it or not!

I have obviously read a bit on the subject and taken a bit from the experienced ones
in our WCC. Basically I’m just “chancin me arm” with these and then submit them for
critique and or advice. It’s all welcome.
Thanks once again John for uplifting this post from the pit :D Maybe it might get another
    one or two.

Very nice portrait, only criticism I would offer is the rather unflattering shadow under the chin.

Perhaps a reflector might make a difference ?

Would like to see some more shots if you can prevail on your good lady .

:D Never noticed it until now. You’re right of course, I must watch that!!!

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Well I suppose John, the image is intended for photographers ‘in the know’ of this type of photography. As I said in my original post “I think this is how to use it” I was looking for advice!

To imply that I was discourteous is a bit out of line. Thanks for looking anyway and it seems you did the legwork on the snoot anyway.

For those of us who have never heard of a ‘snoot’ it might be a little more courteous to at least explain what it is!

    Hi John,

If there is a more courteous person than Pat either on this site or in real life I have yet to meet him or her.

I too think your comment is out of order.

    Regards,

    John.

Judging by todays news I don’t think the Jews are very interested in resolving issues or restoring diplomacy!
