Snow Shower and Angelic Winter Sunsets

  • I put the dogs into the car and drove back to the highlands. Those are my favorite shots of the day. I was sitting in the car and took the first image….a heavy snow shower passed. On our way back we were welcome by this gorgeous foggy sunset including the famous kerry light lasers. For both images i used the HDR to capture all nuances. Cheers Madeliene

    No.1 and No.3 are most certainly my picks of the bunch.. I really love the first shot, a beautiful country shot (if that makes sense??).. No.3, well thats just a classic Madeleine Weber shot, brilliant light, gorgeous shot..

    No.2 though, The detail in the mountain and sky is fantastic, beautiful in fact, but that foreground kills the image (as is) for me.. The contrast between the beautifully detailed mountain and the mundane foreground, i don’t think it works, it doesn’t look natural!! Does that make sense? But hey, thats just me.

    take care,
    Alan

    Hi Alan, every word is appreciated ( ; i had loads of luck with me.

    Yeah the mountain, there is a huge distance between mountain and forground. The blue distance light makes it very attractiv. Usually i would prefer one colour mood in the image. What i really liked about that, is the contrast between snow and no snow. does that makes sense ;D

    Woha!! Absolutely Stunning! every one of them!

    Ive tried many times to get something like that last shot of yours, but always end up with a blown mess or everywhere extremely dark with the beams just visible.

    Any tips?

    thanks guys, yes i adore no 3 as well. thanks for your enthusiasm. thompo, for sky lasers you have 2 options: 1. a portion luck with amazing light conditions or no 2. HDR (High Dynamic Range). I use Photomatix, sometimes PS SC3, it depends of the image. you will find tons of threads in the internet. Try out and good luck…and patience ( ;

    I really like the first shot Madeline… very mystic feel to it

    Hi Jody, yes i agree. i was sitting in the car and waiting. I never ever would take an image through the windows but suddenly this light was so stunning and i gave it a try. i was quite impressed that the light translated into the image in such a powerfull way. A blessed moment in nature and good timing for me. Thanks to the dogs because i had to walk them ( ;
