Some great suggestions there folks…thanks :D
I would LOVE Florence..but not sure about the kids….
I’ve been to Barcelona for a week before and loved it…so that might be an option. Great photo ops there too.
I really like the idea of a driving holiday along the west Coast, but I’m not sure how the accomodation would work out. But is a definite maybe..
Thanks again..
and anyone has anymore good ideas keep ’em coming.
MartinParticipantHow about Poland?. Spend a few days in Krakow then rent a car and drive down to the mountains in zakopane. Very cheap especially in zakopane which is real nice. In the mountains there is lots of walking trails and the town in the evening is buzzying and very family orientated with lots of very good places to eat etc, waterpark and all that there also, great value for money
M
ExpresbroParticipantNever even thought about Poland Martin. Thanks. I’ll look it up.
Just not somewhere I associated with holidaying.. :D
randomwayMemberIf you want to go somewhere real unusual, why not visit some gipsy colonies in Eastern Europe? Just leave all your belongings behind and open your mind :)… forget about coming back.
shutterbugParticipantWhat about Wales? Great for photography and some really good family
days out also Oakwood is a blast and Dan or Ogof caves near the Breacon
Beacons, sterling is favourable too at the moment.joe_elwayParticipantI reckon we Irish don’t do the English countryside enough. I guess it’s cos it’s too close and the auld history thing. Places like Cornwall and the Lake District seem appealing to me.
GCPParticipantDecided last year to stroke off the 1st two weeks of April this year and take off ! …………. So on Sunday next I’m away to Austria and some surrounds for ten days just to relax and get out of the studio. One item thats not coming though …. the camera !
stcstcMemberhey robbie,
why not try the north of england
there is so many things to do, for all the family
within an hrs drive of newcastle is everything from huge shopping centres to hadrians wall
and everything in between
IforParticipantWell you don’t have to go far, tried North West Wales, sea, mountains and plenty of adventure for the kids. Most places only approx 3 hours from Dublin/Dun Laoghaire. (Fast Ferries)
joe_elwayParticipantWhenever I priced Wales before I found it was cheaper to fly RyanAir and get a rental car than do the ferry. Maybe I was doing something wrong?
DenverDollParticipantI don’t think your kids haven’t been to London right? Why not start there. I know it’s a very photographed town..but for street shots..your forte  ..you’ll never be at a loss. You can keep everyone busy there for a week no problemo. I’d love to take my kids there..only one of them has been there. Go while the euro is so good!
I never get tired of Rome..sigh
As for Ireland…Ring of Kerry…Donegal….oh heck..I love it all…let me just draw you a map when I see you
