So i shot myself

On the look out for ideas for shooting models etc so last night i spent a bit of time getting some ideas. Wanted something a little more edgy/editorial so i decided to break some rules and decorate my en-suite :D. Feedback welcome as i really want to nail a series.
Well you already know what I think of the shot.
I love it. The whole thing works really well in my little unpublished paperback.Bring on the “A”
Totally see this as an album cover for some rock band with a bit more room on the left and right. Love the tilt of the frame. Really goes with your pose, Ali. Wasn’t originally so sure about the bright light but I reckon it works. The collage on the back fits too … I’m still worried that’s what your bathorrom wall really is decorated like :-)
That A is yours for the taking in October.

Absolutely LOVE this shot. But please don’t let Aerosmith get anywhere near it. Way to good for them… :wink:

Why didn’t you leave the lid up and a question mark hanging?
Or dangle a hypodermic from your veins?
It’s sordid, unsavoury and a bit of your knee is missing, which, in my opinion gives me enough of an excuse to say I don’t like it as a photograph.

Graham – I’ll sell you a print :D. Not really sure what way to approach the A to be honest. I’ll probably throw a few ideas together in the next couple of weeks and see which direction to follow then. Tracklist sounds good :)
Aidan – Thanks a mil :)I really pushed the contrast in this. I was surprised at how well the lighting worked considering i just used one flash. Took a bit of tricking about to make sure i didn’t get any reflections off the magazines. My bathroom is back in shape now thank god :D It’s perfectly normal i’ll have you know.
Robbie – My toilet was probably the only place i could really put my mind at work .. I think anywhere else in the house would take a bit more effort. It was easy to make it something it wasn’t.
Bjorn – always appreciate honest critique and thanks a million for your interpretation, and yes my knee is missing, but i assure you i have one. :lol: God bless your imagination
Good use of light in this photo. Very good.
May be I am being pedantic, and may be you meant it to be that way – the eyes of that guy in one of the photos on the background is just way too strong – and ever since I noticed those eyes, I can’t seem to focus on anything else in the photo. Was that intentional?

Like the idea, absolutely love the collage on the wall
behind you. The tilt really works well within the frame, though
I think the crop of both head and knee might be a little too
much – I’d have left the knee in, possibly extending it into
the black frame on its own without the background…I’m not really sure what classification this falls into though;
it’s not ‘fashion’ as I can’t see much of what you’re wearing,
and I know that what I can see would never fit me… :lol:
It might have been a jewellery shot only the bracelet is
not quite in the optimum position in the frame, nor is its
background subtle enough to show it off. If it was glamour
you’d have taken a brush to those flowing locks of yours… :lol:I guess we’ll just have to call it art.

I had to ask this Bjorn, but I’m curious how you can make a junkie reference from this shot? It really doesn’t say that to me at all?
