Second shot is absolutely superb Tommie, great sense of movement
with the slight blur of Kilbane’s legs, and excellent depth of field. One of
the best football shots I’ve seen here on PI. Could imagine this one
gracing the pages of any sports section in any newspaper…

    Wow, thanks Rob.

’tis not easy with the low light and being stuck in the stands.

    I’d agree with Rob,
    great quality to these-
I assumed you were pitchside, from the perspective in the second-

Yip some good shots there. Like the others I like the second shot best too. The first one is not bad either, from a German point of view I’d crop out Keane, he’s not as sharp (just like his game on the night) as Frings and a.n.other.
The third one is not in the same class as the other two, just a matter of timing, if the German guy wasn’t there it would be a class shot.

If you don’t mind my asking, how did you manage to get a pass for pitch side? Is this your job??

BTW, I was there in the Hogan. Not a bad performance at all.

Excellent. Soo sharp and from the stands.
What gear were you using ? Any trouble getting in with it ?

Wow Tommie. Like the others..looking at the first two shots I’d assumed you were pitchside too.

Makes them all the more remarkable that you were in the cheap seats..hehe!!

Maybe a career as a sports photographer beckons.

    Thanks all.

Went to row one after half time , hence the perspective.

Monopod and Canon 20D and 400mm 5.6. Best shutter speed I could get though at 1600iso was 1/320 sec.

    No probs getting in.

Career in sports photography emm don’t think so, that means HAVING to get the shot. Big difference.

Good to see you had no problems getting the camera in – I’ll bring mine along tomorrow night so!
