[SOLD] Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM

Hi,
I am selling my Canon 17-55 f/2.8 as I’ve just upgraded to full-frame. I’m looking for €650 OBO. This lens is hands down my favorite piece of camera gear I’ve ever bought. If it worked with a full-frame camera, I wouldn’t be selling it. This lens has gotten excellent reviews everywhere, with the consensus being that the glass is of L-quality. For example: http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=303.
If you have a 1.6 crop camera, this is the perfect focal length for a walk-around lens. If you don’t buy mine, just buy one…you won’t be disappointed. Have a look at my blog for some example shots.

LottieParticipantHi,
I looked at your blog, your photographs are great. I have a Canon Eos 450D with a basic kit lens and I think this lens would be compatible.
What condition is your lens in? Where are you based? Thanks in advance

The lens is in good condition. No scratches or dust that I’ve noticed, and it’s never gotten wet. I bought it exactly one year ago and I’ve always used a filter + lens hood for protection. Oh, I forgot to mention, the lens hood comes with it. It’s not a Canon lens hood, but it’s a good copy. For some reason they don’t ship the 17-55 with a hood.
I’m based in Meath, but I work in Dublin.

LottieParticipantThanks for the prompt reply. What is the best price you will sell it for?

Why don’t you make me an offer and we can go from there.

PhotoeyeMemberHi Doug, I will make you an offer tomorrow. Waiting for a friend to sell his camera (should be sold tomorrow) when he does he is going to by my other friends 70-200 F4 then that friend is going to by my 70-200 F2.8 IS then i will buy my 7D and if the price is right your 17-55. Its just one big circle.

That’s cool, but I’d take a straight swap for the 70-200 F2.8 IS

the F4 IS ?
Hmmm…that is tempting, if it’s the IS. However, my wife will kill me…it might be worth it anyway. If you’re serious, that’s a definite possibility.

PhotoeyeMemberPhotoeyeMemberHi Dugl the swop is on 17-55 for the 70-200 F4 IS, we could meet you over the weekend half way

I’m really sorry about this, but I’m not going to be able to do the swap after all. I really need to defray some of the costs of my recent upgrade, and another lens won’t help me with that, no matter how much I’d like to have it :(
Is there any chance you can make a cash deal work?
-Doug
PhotoeyeMemberHi Dougl i know how you feel, i had to pay out 1000 euro today which i haden’t planed on. I might be in a position next week but i don’t want to build up your hopes I will let you know as soon as i know.
DougLParticipantJust to keep things within the rules, Nos made me an offer of €550 via PM. Unfortunately, I can’t accept €550 for the lens, so it’s still available.
