Hi – Not been doing much photography lately so i am selling my NIKON 80-200 F2.8 NIKKOR AF-D ED LENS. The lens is in good cosmetic condition and is optically perfect. I am looking £350 sterling for the lens and it must be collected. I am based in central belfast. There is no lens hood or box with the lens.
smellthegloveMemberI may be interested. What camera did you use this with, on review I dont see any mention of problems using with d200. Do you have any pictures taken with this camera? Belfast is a distance to travel so would want to be sure before I headed up there.
united4meMemberI am using it with the Nikon d700 (which i am considering selling too) but it will work with the d200 no problem although the focal length will be 120-300 because of the d200’s sensor. By the way there is no lens hood with the lens. I bought it without one and never seemed to need it in any situation.
MarkKeymasterJust to help out with one of the questions.
I have one of these lenses and it works great on my D200.
smellthegloveMemberThanks Mark, I have read reviews about it being heavy to walk around with, do you find this? This would be a working lens, weddings etc. If all is perfect and it would suit my purposes I would be happy enough to offer asking.
MarkKeymasterWell its certainly not a light lens, well constructed, metal etc… it not terribly heavy.
To be honest, you’re not likely to get a lens with such range, sharpness and at f2.8 thats light.Bit of a plug, but a PI camera strap definitely spreads the weight across the neck.
Anyhow, very good sharp lens. I wouldn’t sell mine, love it.
smellthegloveMemberThanks Mark, well hopefully if united 4 me gets back to me soon we can arrange something. I wonder is the camera strap attached to the lens????? As I have the nikon strap on the camera. I did once have a very heavy minolta lens on an old camera which I always had to hold the lens as well as the camera as it was so heavy.
randomwayMemberunited4meMemberi have never had any strap etc etc with the lens and i have no problem carrying it or shooting handheld with it. Anyone that wants to try the lens on their camera etc if you can make it to belfast i can arrange it. I live in north belfast but work in the city centre so i am their most days.
smellthegloveMemberUnited I am very very interested in purchasing this lens, possibly this weekend. I’ll be making my way from Dublin though, happy with asking but any chance of meeting in Newry? Will most likely have to bring kids along you see.
united4meMemberi could manage that on sunday okay but not friday or saturday. I have a shop in belfast and i am busiest on those 2 days so i couldn’t get away.

g0riIIaParticipantHi, seem like a great lens at great price. Further on smelltheglove’s comment, my only concern would be the stress on the lens mount, does this have a tripod collar?
smellthegloveMemberok cool. Can you pm me your contact details and then we can arrange meeting up. Looking forward to it.
united4meMembersorry but since i posted my last mesage the lens has been sold. Someone just called tonight and took it. Thanks for the interest though.
smellthegloveMemberHave to say I’m disappointed but what can ya do….. win some loose some.
