monoParticipantstcstcMemberits in great nick
i bought it about 1 year ago from a pro photog who used it as a backup lens
stcstcMemberrc53MemberAn excellent lens — and if I’d have known, I would have delayed my purchase till now!
CerberusParticipantkensutzParticipantHmm the temptation. If nobody snaps it up I’ll be monitoring this closely (pending Nikon switch!)
stcstcMembermonoParticipantSteve,
I am interested in this lens do you know hoe old the lens is,
looking forward to seeing the pics of itjohnson76ParticipantJust wondering why you are looking to sell it ?
Was thinking of getting this for some wildlife photography as well.. have you used it with any TC and are they all manual based when they go on it
thanks
KevstcstcMemberyes i am trying to sell it
i have used it with the canon 1.4 teleconvertor, but then it becomes f8 which on my 40D means it wont autofocus
with a 1d series camera it will still autofocus
monoParticipantstcstcMemberto be able to use a convertor you either need a 2.8 lens or a 1d camera
with 40d you need at f4 or 2.8 lens to use the 1.4 convertor

It is not true. You can use kenko x1.4 (excellent TC). There is a catch though. You have to isolate one or two of the pins on the lens. I’m a nikon user and I don’t remember the details but it is possible (ask Mr Google). Disadvantage is that AF will be quite slow.
