Just thought I’d put up some more shots I got back the other day…getting another 12 b/w and 12 colour Thursday so will put some up. This roll was literally just shooting anything and everything to experiment a bit…

I’m obviously a COMPLETE Phillistine  But I just don’t get these… well not all of them?

Without getting into the film/digital and post processing debate, I look at each photo as a finished article and I try not to consider how it was taken or achieved. So when I look at these with the same perspective I don’t see the brilliance and class that David does. Am I missing something? Now don’t get me wrong, shots 1, 2 and 3 do stand out as being really good photos for me, especially 2. They’re original and show that you have a great eye. I’d rather have less vignetting and I’d be tempted to crop the polaroid frame as it seems to be saying “hey… I’m taken with film” rather than serving any other real roll. But apart from that, 3 great photos. Number 4 looks like a photo of a girl on a bed. It’s taken at eye level, lit completely flat and looks a little washed out from flash?? And 5 I don’t get at all.

Perhaps I’m a digital purist, but I’d love to see 1, 2 and 3 taken on a really high end camera… but I wonder would the shots have the same impact then?

    Thanks for posting.
