Great set. The cards one is super. In the last one, it reminds me of the adverts where the man has the bird catching the fish for him.

Thanks Connie, these were taken in Yangshuo in China. Here they still use cormorants to catch fish in the river. There are a few more shots on flickr..

    Hi Charles,

    Lovely set of images.
    Some great expressions and engagement.
    The colour is nice too.

Looks like you got right in there too.

I enjoyed viewing them and thanks for that.

Some info re camera settings, focal length etc is always welcome but that’s
just me and my info crusade. :D

    Well done,

    John.

Thanks for your kind comments John. Sorry I’m lazy about the info. It’s all included on the versions in Flickr, but cannot find an easy way of bringing it over to PI….. I do recall the card players were shot around midnight with a 50mm f1.8 and 1/6sec.. Given my shaky hands, that’s an achievement for me :-)
The others were probably shot using a Canon 70-200mm f2.8….
Check out Flickr, and thanks again for your comments.

Lovely set Charlie, love the last one, a little fill flash would have brightened
his face a little, but thats just being picky! :)

Thanks Jenny, I took this from a bit of a distance with with at about 200mm. The light was difficult the whole day there and most of my shots were murky. Added to that was 40 deg C and very high humidity with lens fogging up etc etc…. Some great opportunities lost. maybe I’ll just have to go back :-)
There may be some better ones of this guy posted on Flickr..

    Thanks for taking the time

    Charlie
