Just a couple of thoughts on your shots, … you seem to have caught two nice moments full of character. He looks like a very happy little lad.
But the light is very harsh, I guess it is bad time of day, the sun is harsh and coming straight down. It is hard to get reasonable exposure midday on such a sunny day.
If you do similar shots near the “golden hour”, ie in the evening when the sun gets softer, you would do a much better job.
One other thing, your ISO setting is at 800, I guess it should be at 100 on such a nice day. I often accidentally change the ISO on my canon 400D when I’m trying to set the focus point, and it doesn’t show up in the viewer (I think they have fixed it in the 450D)
Yes it was a very bright sunny day didnt realise the ISO was 800 but when i think back we had been in shade a while before these i must have bumped it up and forgot. Might be able to do something in Photoshop when i get better with it and hopefully improve in the future with peoples C&C.
