Something a little different

Just playing around trying to get some good dark shots, a little on the under exposes side but going for a dirty feel without losing visor highlights. Still wondering how to setup some home studio lights, Amazon can’t ship books fast enough. Main light is a 60w desklap for directional light and a dimmed 200w for ambient, not ideal but will have to do for the moment. I like action figures and things that transform being a child of the 80s, so this pic might be a little different to most on this site.

I’m also trying to figure out how to get a really narrow depth of field, I know I need to have the Apt f/low, but the lens stops at 5. I think I need something closer to 2 or 3 as I wanted to get more blur on the wallpaper, while I could obviously just move the figure away from the wall. But then keeping the shadow in frame becomes problematic as my desklap has limited angles.

    Nikon D60 VR 18-55mm, Apt f/5 Shutter 1/30 ISO400.
