Sony announces 24.8mp FullFrame sensor

…. with 6.5fps. I think this puts Sony firmly into the DSLR market. Ppl, including me, were a little skeptical about their commitment to the dSLR market, but hey, ppl’s fears have well and truly been smashed in recent weeks. I know we have to wait and see the reviews of it in the battle field, but the vibe is good.

I know Sony make Nikon’s FF sensor for the D3, (and for the D40, D60, D80, D200 & D300) but Nikon should be a little concern now.

    So now Sony have:

    A100 10.2mp
    A200 10.2mp
    A300 + A350 (10.2mp + 14.2mp)
    A700 12.4mp
    Axxx 24.8 friggen pixels (wow)

Now, I just have to decide, A700 (12.4mp cmos), A350 (14.2mp CCD) or the Axxx ff (24.8 friggen pixels). Where did I leave my gullible friend Mr. Visa.

Come on guys I know you’re excited too…..

Could it mean the overpriced Canon 1D’s will come down in price (at long last) and for the Nikon punters a 24mp D3x is on the horizon….
