Spelga Dam – Mournes

One overlooking Spelga Dam in the Mournes yesterday evening. Was swamped by midges the instant i stepped out of the car.

I know how ya feel bout the midgets I was the same when out the other nite, they just swarm to ya.
Nice shot, and good to see the view from the opposite shore to the car-park! You must have caught a nice calm day if the midges were biting! Usually there’s a gale screaming across Spelga that would blow anything away!

Good shot of an are I know and love well.
If I can make one observation and it’s something I am guilty of myself, the shot looks a tad overprocessed making it a wee bit surreal.. Like I said, something I am guilty of myself quite often – I feel that it’s a location that is so superb that it really doesn’t need too much on the pp side of things..
edit: looking again and maybe this is HDR?
Wow, beautiful shot Gary as usual. Whatever techniques and equipment you are using, you really seem to be getting the best out of them. Any tips you might care to share? :oops:
