Not had much chance to get out and about recently, so here’s an old one for critique:

I love this. It has lots of energy to it! It almost looks like a scale model for some reason, maybe its the foreground & background being out of focus. I’m curious if this was done in photoshop or was it all done optically? If optically, what lens where you using?

Had to look at the larger version as I couldn’t tell what this was – someone jumping into the water? Surely not, with that size splash :-)
Interesting composition… although with him going away from the camera, and the scale of the splash, it might have been nice to see more of the ocean top/left of frame, to really show the scale of the sea vs the chap riding on it.
Also a little too dark for me overall, but I love the light on the top of the spray.
The large version isn’t really large enough either!

those things are a lot of fun.
But pete is correct about the scale effect,
its very odd looking.I think it’s like some blur has been added top and bottom,
but I stand to be corrected-
also the splash is very clean,
as if he’s been dropped there-
have any splashes been removed,
or tidied up?I was disappointed with the size of the clickthrough; after visiting twice,
the size of the final image is not much bigger than the thumbnail.The title on the picture is, in my view, completely unnecessary;
it jostles with the rider for attention.
Slightly more effort may have brought a more imaginative title, too.Great splash though-

The shot has had some selective bulur applied front and rear – the splash is as shot.
It’s a guy on a jetski for those who can’t tell from the tiny shot I posted!!
As for the title JB – I hope you’re not seriously critiquing that!
Was interested to see if anyone commented on the selective focus effect – at least you all noticed it! lol
I’ll take the comments on board – please feel free to slap me if I upload such a small image again!

lovely image, huge splash! would agree about the title though…takes away from it a bit IMHO.
Lovely shot. It’s a shame it jet ski wasn’t facing you and if the splashing water was caught in the sun as part of it it would be perfect, IMHO. Can you get back down there and retake, I do it would be worth it.
Lovely shot as it is. I wonder what B&W version would be like?I’d like to see a B&W version too. Very explosive looking splash!
I’m not a big fan of the blurring though, I find it distracting and artificial, sorry! :)
