Sporting Fingal V Athlone Town

I would like to thank Paul Walsh – the Official photographer for sporting Fingal for allowing me to accompany him to the match last night. He was very generous, patient and understanding in answering all my questions (of which there were many)
I soon realised that the equipment I have is nowhere near the quality needed to reproduce quality sports photography. However I persevered and got some half decent shots, wth some advice from Paul regarding settings etc.
Here are the best of a bad bunch.
Would love to know what you guys think.

Once again – many thanks Paul.

Haven’t even looked at mine yet. The ball spent so little time at our end, I’m not expecting a whole lot!

At least you had a penalty your end….

Lights were very poor I thought. Probably not helped by the running track around the pitch!

Pleasure to meet other posters last night.

    Great result for Fingal.

Just a few of my images. The rest are on my website, with a selection gone to the club and papers too.

I never considered the lights to be that bad. I’ve certainly shot at worse grounds.

Nice to meet you too Paul. Only getting to finish upload mine today. Found the lighting quite hard to deal with but how and ever:
    1. Lorcan Fitzgerals keeps a tight hold on Stephen Place

    2. Robbie Hamms shot has Darren Quigley beaten but flies just over the bar

    3. Noel McGee skips past Brian Gannon

    4. Shaun Maher gets in a last ditch tackle to knock Franco Georgescu off the ball
