These are great. Really good compositions and lighting. Number one would be my favourite except for the cheesy screen on the right so the last one gets my vote.

    A very nice set.

    Cheers.

    Lovely set.
First one is my pick of the bunch, might be worth cropping a bit from each side as its started to bend.
Brilliant detail throughout all the shots and looks a great church. Well worth a visit.
Second one it might be worth cropping up to the step and removing the bottom to balance

    Thanks John/Dee.

John: Agreed, cheesy, cheesy stuff on that screen.

Dee: The first was taken with an 8mm fisheye lens, thus the “bend”.

The last one is my favourite. Maybe it’s the simplicity and symmetry of the shot. Might work well in B&W too with that light.

Last one would be my fave but having said that #1 is technically the best of the four, just a pity it is spoilt by the modern technology, it is really out of place in this setting :(
#2 and #3 just need a bit more at the top (they are sorta like people shots with the tops o’ their heads missing)…..Mikka

I think these pictures are alright. I like the distortion in the 1st but don’t like the modern looking screen as has been said.

I personally think this church would lend itself more to focusing in on some of the small details present than the wider angle shots you’ve gone for here. That’s just what I would have tried to capture in this setting personally.

    Thanks everyone for the comments.

Thanks, I’ll try and bear this in mind next time.

These are very good. Nice rich colours and textures especially the shiney wood in the first and the stone arches in no4.. and the confession box. Anyway, how did you get them so nicely balanced and vibrant? if you dont mind me asking.

    Hi Wesley,

The church was extremely dark so I took three exposures of each shot, blended the exposures to create a HDR/TM image and then touched up in Photoshop.

Lighting, detail and the lovely backlit windows makes No. 4 the best!

    8mm?

isn’t that a horror flick starring Nicholas Cage?

I didn’t know you were into meteorology-
which is the only good reason to use lenses that intentionally distort-
in my chit stirring opinion, of course…

Nice set, though not without flaws, each of them-

Nothing that couldn’t be sorted by a taller tripod, in most cases-

I’ve been meaning to get into an Irish church for a long time now-
    really must try harder…
