That is a cracking shot, put me in a good humour on this dark, wet Monday morning.

This is a nice shot, but is it me or is it a little too dark, it maybe my monitor.

Little too dark for my liking too Tim. The dark at the top of the frame is killing what looks
like a great silhouette and I’m sure the sand ripples would look spectacular if you could
bring out a bit of detail in the foreground.

    Just my tuppence…

That’s a mage tower and it has to be dark. Good as it is. The foreground would become another boring shot of dunes and all the shadows would be gone… don’t edit it, print it.

Silhouettes are of course meant to be dark. The point I’m making is that the silhouette is
being lost in the darkness at the top of the frame and therefore loses the impact it should have against such
    a vibrantly coloured sky.

I Like the dark tones, although I agree that it might be a tad bit too dark.

It’s a great shot nevertheless and I really like it!

    Thanks for the feedback, all.

Yes – it’s dark, and have had a ton of similar feedback from other forums.

Viewing on a calibrated monitor (or in print), whilst dark, there is a ton of subtle detail in the sand, which personally I LOVE.

Kinda expected a mixed response putting this on the web, so at least I was right in my expectations!! lol

I think I overcooked the ND gradding (hence the sky going to black), so agreed on that point – well spotted.

    Thanks again,

Lovely image Tim… I agree its maybe a tad overcooked but it wouldnt bother me that much as the content can handle it… very moody but warm feel to it…!

Afraid it doesnt do it for me this time.

Just too much darkness, and it doesnt really hold my interest Im afraid! Sorry!
