poor photographs with no real thought. nothing new either. point and shoot at characters in the parade. how original.

as someone here once put it, you might recall who it is – not my kind of thing!

I suppose it just goes to prove that you can’t please everyone Rob!
Thank you at least for your honest critique. I personally didn’t think they were
that bad but if they didn’t appeal to you, my apologies!

Nice to see this stay civil :)

Anyhow, I think that they all could do with a bit of sharpening John. The 2nd one does nothing for me I’m afraid.
Last one would be my favourite, its the most interesting of the set.

I’m just that kind of guy Mark! ;)
    You get tossers everywhere.
It’s when you don’t react to them, that’s when it really bothers ’em.

    Thanks for the comments!

John, did I say something nasty to you to be called a tosser?

All I’m saying is the photos you posted are rubbish. I could get technical about it and go into issues of composition, the sharpness, the blown out areas, the overall lack of interest that each photo holds…but they are are just in a nutshell – rubbish.

You come across as the type of guy to speak his mind. You recently felt digruntled about being ”subjected” to photos of children if I’m not mistaken. You also stressed how disappointed youd be with your children if they took photos you did’nt like at one point.

I’m just calling it as I see it pal, much like yerself. So chin up, grow up and less of the tosser talk fella, ok?

    John,

Looks like I spoke too soon. There is no need for the name calling ! If you guys have any issues, please
deal with it off the site.

    Thanks

They seem soft and over saturated, It kinda looks like they were cropped from a bigger image. Were you using auto focus?

I suppose my main reason for using this forum was to share an interest with like minded people. I have to bow my head with some of the offerings i have printed but i now look back and realise this was a point in my career when i was learning and without it, i would most likely be looking at other peoples work wondering why cant i do that. I have seen pictures taken with a world of difference regarding point and shoot and semi and pro cameras but these kind of postings would put you off the whole idea of letting other people criticing your work. If you want to help someone be positive in your approach. Being blunt is being just blunt at the end of the day. Point out where the improvements can be made and mabey how that person may go about it.
    Kind regards
    Patrick. :D

    Thanks guys!
I don’t know what happened regarding the softness.
They are sharp on the PC?
I use Photobucket as a host to the images, prior to submitting them here.
I’ll have to have a look & see where I went wrong, other than taking the images!

I suppose it’s all too easy to be a critic but we all know the shot we want to capture
but that doesn’t mean we’ll always get it, but at least we’ll have fun trying!
