Stand Up Lights for First Wedding Dance? No flash!

i Everyone,

I wanted to ask wedding photographers out there have you ever used stand up lights to light up the dance floor for the first dance at a wedding and not use your flash gun at all? I shot a wedding last year and used the band that was playing to point one of their stand up lights out onto the dance floor. I was able to work with the light and caught some great moments without a flash needed.

Have you ever used this set up? Would you know of any lights to buy?

I really liked the effect instead of flash.

Do you normally have an assistant? Wouldnt you need someone to keep the light tracked on them?

And wouldnt any variable powered hot light do? I was looking at a set of arri knockoffs on ebay a while back, they’d probably be ideal
