I do like the general idea to this shot. The silhouette is perfect and very well defined. Nice ripples in the water.
The composition is a bit off for me… I think that the young lad should be centred in the frame, maybe with a little extra space beneath the feet to balance up the space above him.
The surrounds could take a little extra saturation in the reds & yellows to give it some warmth and life.
The horizon is also crooked… and needs a counter clockwise rotation of about 0.8 of a degree.
The black stroke around the border is too thick and spoils the presentation a bit for me.
Still a nice shot… would be pleased if it was my son/photo.
Everything wot John said, except the bit about saturation; I quite like the muted
tones of the background and I don’t think the silhouette would look as well with
too much saturation behind it. Definitely a bit of a shame that you don’t have
more space at the bottom just to balance things up…
