Starling shot on the 7D and 70-200 F4 lense. Taken from inside living room with the window open. C&C welcome :) Cropped in closer and minor tweaks.
f4, 500, focal length 200mm, spot metering, auto focus on ai servo. No flash, hand held.

Thats lovely Connie! Beautiful colours and nice pose too, Starlings always seem to
get a bad press but they are really beautiful birds.

Thanks everyone. Is there any way to get the whole bird in focus without losing the blue of the sky? everytime I tried to move the F to something like an 8 the sky would blow out white. I had the iso on auto and used shutter priority on some and manual on others.

Try dialling in a little exposure compensation when using smaller
    aperture, it may help!

Doh! Sometimes the most obvious is the hardest to find… lol Many thanks Jenny. I have been so focussed on the focus I forgot about the little side settings lol x
