Statue and phone box

I know texturing is not everyones cup of tea but I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on the two versions of this image and how you respond to them

Hi Mark, I prefer the colour version, and the texture somehow goes with the
subject, the statue is old and textured and I think the background texture on
the phone box enhances this, as you say not everyones cup of tea, but I like it.
