I know its a bit of a tangled mess, but maybe thats what attracted me to it in the first place.

It was 3 bracketed exposures blended in PS….. in other words a HDR.

And yes, it is straight…. maybe :?

I’ve come back to this shot a couple of times, i find it quite fascinating. all those diagonals and rivets! what on earth is it?

    Hi Isabella,

Sorry, I forgot to say what/where it is! Its beside the Convention Centre in Dublin – apparently called the “North Wall Quay Scherzer bascule bridge”…. which I must confess I didnt know until you asked :)

This is a view the other direction for reference. Personally I like the juxtaposition with the new convention centre….and the mess of angles.

    Thanks for looking.

Love both, but the second is my favourite.

i’ll have to go look for it next time I’m in Dublin! ya i like the contrast between bridge and the angles and textures in the glass in the background, number 1 is my favorite! i also like that little section of ordinary block shapes in the bottom left, a very nicely composed abstract!

    Hi Dan

    Thanks for your kind comments.

It was my Canon 50D with a Sigma 17-70.

As I said the 1st was 3 bracketed shots (hand held) blended to HDR in PS5 then tweaked in LR3.

Although I did shoot 3 of the 2nd shot, I only adjusted one slightly in LR3 as I was only posting it to show Isabella the larger structure!

    Thanks again!
