Hey Paperdoll, I’m with you here. I prefer the colour version too.
I think the powerful blue sky complements the colour of the steps and sets off the steel structure beautifully.

For me the colour version sets the scale, as in the b&w one the people disappear into the background.

I like that you’ve seen the shapes and angles here. This favours the B&W version for me, textures/lines etc. However, a child in a yellow top somehow mimicking one of those shapes in the background, sitting on the steps in the foreground could have made this a top-notch shot, it would have had everything in colour. Take this comment with a pinch of salt, what do I know about architechture shots.

As much as I do Simon. It just seems that a lot of the shots I take nowadays concentrate on what they call “the built environment”. It’s probably a reluctance to interact with people.

I had an “interaction” with a security man in the local shopping centre yesterday who told me “I’ll wrap that f***ing thing around your neck”. I had to continue by taking his photo although he was walking on my toes in his industrial boots. The shot turned out like a paparazzi reject. Can I post such a shot on this forum? Maybe this is a topic for another thread.
