A still life that i have been trying to get a scan from for some time to put on the blog.
Image was made on film with Nikon and 55mm macro. Images was printed on Ilford warmtone sepia toned and then hand tinted. Print was a little bigger than A4 so had difficulty scanning it, now here is a good idea ! I photographed it with a digital compact with two lights one on each side at approx 45% to print. Its a little crooked i know but worked well..
Totally amazing. DoF is fantastic, wonderfully printed and toned. Apart from it being crooked from being taken digitally to put up I can’t fault it (not your fault though!). It literally jumps off the screen to me that I can almost feel the texture.
Yes yes yes, gorgeous. Love it too for all the above reasons. Reproduced admirably I think (certainly at the posted size – I don’t care if it’s a bit crooked), has a lot of warmth and depth to it, the tinting is just superb, together with the subtle vignetting, makes it my kind of picture. Lovely. I’m not overly a meister of cleanly modern lines so the rough border defo works well for me, but then Dave was Honest in his Opinion so give him that ;)
Thanks for viewing and commenting. The ragged edge is a bit of a trademark at this stage, i do like to keep it on the subtle side just defining the edge if the image, generally works better on the mono images.
