Stolen Camera Equipment (Dublin)
-
LeftyParticipant
Hi there,
Sorry if this is the wrong place!
unfortunately some of my gear got stolen tonight from The Mercantile Venue on Dame Street in Dublin, so hopefully you’ll be able to help out.Gear stolen was;
Nikon D7000, serial number: 6482613
and
Nikon 24-70 f/2.8, serial number: 752453.
attached to the camera was a manfrotto tripod plate and an Op-tech sling strap,
with 2 Sandisk 8gb Extreme cards in the camera.Unfortunately I know this is a long shot, but you never know!
If you could keep an eye out for anything trying to be sold second hand that would be very appreciated.
Best Regards,
Ger Reddall.shutterbugParticipantMarkKeymasterkeithaburkeParticipantHi there,
Did you get your camera back?I had a burglary recently and they took my D7000 also. The serial number is 5618827.
I hope you don’t mind my tagging this onto your post.

erzParticipantHi All
I’m sure you’re all sick of hearing ppl moan about stolen stuff but I’m posting on the off chance…. I am GUTTED to say that my new (less than 3000 shots) D800 with Nikkor 28-300m lens were stolen from the boot of my car last Friday night outside my house. It was in a Crumpler camera bag, with a 64gb card containing 500 of the best shots I’ve ever taken. (Also another 8Gb card in the bag, with a circular polariser and a few other bits. None of it was visible from the outside, nor had it been taken out or put into the car for a few days. I’m scouring DoneDeal etc but no joy. I’m so gutted:I bought the camera as a massive treat with money I inherited from my Dad, as a way to remember him. Some little bollxx is going around with a mint condition camera and lens and will probably try to flog it off for about €500.
Any suggestions (bar NEVER leaving anything in my car ever again) would be welcome. Thanks. Will I put the serial number here?

shutterbugParticipantI am so sorry , I know if any of my precious gear was nicked I would be totally gutted!
I hope you had insurance, or your household insurance will cover it (though I doubt it)
I will put the word around the camera club to keep ears open for any bargain offers.
It might be worth leaving the serial numbers in camera shops?
