It was a big strawberry, but the spoon was HUGE…

Nice shot Jenny love the splash detail, any tips on this setup as I might give this a go in the camera club

Thanks Cathal, haven’t seen you on here for awhile! It was a fairly easy set up
A big serving spoon ( because my aim isn’t the best) I put a cast iron casserole dish
on the draining board and put the handle of the spoon under the lid to hold it
steady, then filled it with milk, the spoon not the casserole dish! Camera on
tripod and flash set on the opposite side of the dish, then dropped the strawberry
with one hand while firing the shutter with the other, a black background (card)
at the back of the sink against the taps! This took about ten goes!

Great timing Jenny. Maybe you should clone out the almost invisible dots of milk (especially above the strawberry). I find them distracting. Well done.

This is a great one, Jenny! Any day that I have a bit of time on my hands, I am thinking of trying something ‘little’ like this but haven’t even got a remote flash or nothing :( and it’s not like the place is huge with a lot of light in it anyway.
Great stuff though, good that you used milk as I think it gives the ‘strawberries and cream’ look to it. Good call on the black background as well :)

Thank you Vee, good fun to do, though I am still wiping mik
    splashes off of everything!
