Have started reading it – some of the photos are brilliant, but the text is just BLEURGH.

Full of empty, vacuous phrases about just how GREAT they all are, about how they FEEL a scene, how they BECOME ONE with their surroundings.

If they were any more full of themselves they’d burst.

^ To say he is a purist doesnt fit it at all, but I was able to finish it and found it interesting, it just depends if you are able to ignore his mentioning of rangefinders and the like ;) I did find the others bit relating to photography in general to be useful

I think the number one skill a good street photographer possesses is a total lack of embarrassment. I on the other hand, suffer from an overactive sense of embarrassment, so I’ll stick to landscapes! :D

A lack of embarrassment is one thing – this guy simply thinks that he’s god’s gift to photography. He likens himself to Cartier-Bresson, dismisses anyone with a different opinion as “flaming” and goes on (and on and on) about how the photos wouldn’t be anywhere as good if it weren’t for his talent and skill.

    Not to mention,

    The one-line writing.

    Starts to grate.

    Very quickly.
