Have to agree.. shot No. 1 stinks of class.
AliParticipantVery nice conversion. I’m really drawn to the third image, i don’t know whether its the contrast or the young guy’s stare.
Nice work :)FreeAndPhotographyIrelandParticipantThanks everyone for the comments, i really like the first one myself – it proves the benefits of working in raw, that was just a quick snap walking down the quays and was completely blown out because the settings were all off but i’m glad i was able to save it. Should be a lesson to anyone who doesnt fully appreciate the benefits of raw…
LoGillParticipantConversion is lovely – these shots are superb …I really, really like them all but particularly one and three.. sorry for choosing favourites … I can’t help it :)

RobMemberExcellent work, really striking images. Particularly drawn to images 1 and 4. Well done.
Rob.
RobertoMemberI like the b&w conversion of all of them.
My favourite is the last photo for its DOF, light and the boys face expression.AliParticipantrichiehatchMemberFreeAndPhotographyIrelandParticipantThanks again for the comments, Ali i agree with you on the titles – i was never big on naming my photos its only something that i started doing recently but it can be useful in adding direction to an image, not always as straight forward as that though…
mgstParticipantJohnnyMcMillanParticipantHeya…
Have to say I’m not really for giving images (photographs/prints) titles sometimes. It’s interesting though with these mainly cos when they were posted up there wasn’t any titles and now since you have done so, I know my view has changed due to that. I’ve seen ALOT of people’s work especially in prints, where sometimes giving something a title…can sometimes ruin the overall feel about it….just be careful sometimes as to how you title something.
FreeAndPhotographyIrelandParticipantI agree Johnny, naming can sometimes add to an image but i generally try to avoid it unless i feel it adds something (as i do in the original 2 but not the second ones and i dont really know why i gave them titles). Here are two more i took over the weekend, these have titles too just to keep with the rest in the series..

The Real Big Issue
LoGillParticipantI really like the one of the woman is this set of two- primarily because she is engaging you and has a quirky little look on her face :) The first one with the man sleeping feels a little instrusive to me, but maybe thats what you were aiming for.
with regard to titles – if they are chosen well to suit the image then they can be really powerful in drawing the viewer to the context of your shots.. I always think about them :)
