RASMITH32MemberHi Cathald, yes looks fine though I was thinking on something that would give me a bit more power and have a bot more longevity if you jnow what I mean.
Do you know how the remote firing works?. I have a canon 40D. Would i need to state this when purchasing or are the wireless triggers/ cables generically applicable??
cathaldParticipantI used this with a cheapo set of triggers bought from ebay, the one’s that attach to the hotshoe and the other end plugs into the lights
thephotoguyMemberStudio lighting……drooL drooL towel please.. its such a pity that we have to resort to shop/site outside the country for a good deal and quality.
As for the Triggers for cannon/nikon its up to you depending for in studio triggers or camera cable release.RASMITH32MemberGuys what should I be lookin out for in a kit?, I have a limited spend but want to get something half decent (if thats not an oxi-morn)
for example I see the following on Amazon and it looks great at a glance and a decent price but is it?. There are a couple around in this sort of price range

crampParticipantI have that kit bought it on ebay a few months ago, only used it this weekend for the first time if you want to have a look at it you are welcome to come and see it, I also bought a backdrop and stand on Ebay during the week which is nearly as important
thephotoguyMemberFor me when i buy one its a choice From Calumet/Bowens/Lastolite and Lastolite for me is in first place at the moment especially with the elasticated backrounds and and equipment for the Photographer without an assistant.
Only problem is of the 3 mentioned each one has some good and bad points. Why lastolite well a english photographer called Mark Cleghorn (site and books and vids) simply convinced me.
his books are worth a read look too.
If any one knows of a better site for lastolite prices let me know.RASMITH32MemberHI Cramp, when I looked at that one as advertised it is noted at 91KGs!!!, is this correct or a typo?. Also how much were you charged for shipping of same? (assuming u purchased from the UK). Let me know what your results were like?
Thanks for the advice TPG. I am also coinsidering the Lencarta smartflash 200 kit, any thougthts on this?
crampParticipantI bought the kit on ebay
here is a link to the same kit

flynnyParticipantI would highly recommend Paddy Barker in Cork,
Apart from being a site sponsor, They are the most helpful people that I have come across.
Barkers will have something for all budgets, and most importantly, they will advise you as regards what suits your needs best.
Give them a shout, they deliver countrywide,
I think they will be at photofest as well ..http://www.barkerphotographic.ie/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;

I would highly reccomend him. I had emailed him a number of times before I settled on what exactly I wanted and could afford and he was always straight back to me with a reply.
