“Two doors”… Kilcarbry, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford

That’s an odd one. I’d initially say it doesn’t work but I can’t say why and I’m still gawping at it. It seems in some way unfinished, like I want to see more. I like the idea and the tone mapping that has been done though. Do you have any more at different angles??

John, i love this shot its a cracker
    What processing did u do?

Only spolier for me is that the extra parts of the windows on the right break up the symetery

Unfortunatley the building in it’s entirety isn’t perfectly symmetrical. There’s an extra set of windows to the right and to the left it’s joined to the remains of an old mill.

I didn’t want to leave in the extra windows or the drain pipe but I didn’t want the doors to be too tight in the frame either.

    It quirky… no doubt… fun quirky… I like it.

BTW: I hating admitting it… but it’s a “HDR-TM”… then into PS… desaturated some of the colour but masked the doors… boosted the contrast… a small Dodge+Burn around the Shadows/Highlights.

As Alan said – it is an odd one… and i love it :) It’s a shame about extra windows and drain pipe, still – a cracker :)

    Interesting shot John.
I like what you did with the wall.
Did it take long to HDR-TM and PS it.

No, not long at all… probably 5-6 mins in total. The TM takes a couple of mins tinkering with the settings to get the desired look, then the PS was basically two adjustment layers (one masked) and some sharpening. 2-3 mins work.

Here’s another view which illustrates the quirkiness of the construction a little better with some old mill parts scattered around:

Very Nice John, love the contrast of the colour of the doors against the walls.

Heres my take at a crop for fun, halving the doors

Even quirkier again Martin… liking the square crop… I have to say I like this photo… your version is even odder.
