I like the word association thread. Could with do something similar except with images? Photos, drawings etc.
Or does this prove I am image obsessed?

I don’t like the word association thread,
    I think its a pollutant.

I also think Christmas is overrated, unless you’re in retail,
and if that ball comes over my wall, you’re not getting it back.

Image association is a far better idea,
Tho there may have to be a size limit on the pictures, as the pages could end up quite sizeable-

oops, I just said the first thing that came into my head-

with the rule that they have to be your own photographs/pictures…

What about a maximum size of 400 pixels on the longest side? Would an image association thread be suitable for a general chat area?

Ya big party pooper. 140+ replies and still going strong. Thigh-slapping belly-laughs in every post!

God it looks terrible out of context.

    Still believe it though-

Maybe the rules are too strict-
“Bah Humbug” isn’t an option; 2 words,
    or ‘bollox’,
I’m sure there are rules about decency (bullocks?)

I wanted to put in ‘Period.’ after someone wrote ‘Pat Kenny’
    but feared someone’s misinterpretation-
    When will it ever end?

Great idea on the image thread

Or.. how about a manipulation challenge thread? I know a few forums that run challenges where someone posts a pic, then someone else voulenteers to mod it (say within 2 hours), adding their own art & photography into it, and posts the modded pic. Then person 1 mods again etc etc. You end up with a constantly evolving scene full of different elements and a load of photoshop practice for the participants!

    Example:

someone posts pic of a person.
next person extracts person and puts in backdrop of seafront
next person adds a plane in the sky
next person adds some cattle on the beach
next person replaces person with an ice cream parlour
next person adds an ice cream cone in the cows mouth….

After say 3 rounds each, people vote for who they feel did the best job, and they get crowned manipulation champion for that week or something…

Abstract, yes, but good fun too! If this sounds waay too complex, it’s not – I’m just not great at explaining!

Sounds like this could be hilarious Tim.

Not keen on a manipulation challenge such as that described here on the PI site. If any challenges like this are on the site
they need to be in the monthly photo assignment (to be renamed shortly to something more generic)

Similar to your idea Tim. I do like the idea of having an area where a member posts an image and other do their post processing on it.
Perhaps with a vote at the end of it as you suggest Tim. That should provide the right type of practice for people
using PhotoShop or other tools. I’ll set this up later this week, see if there is any interest.
