Taken today at Johnstown Castle, Co Wexford. The place was teeming with
dragonflies, and damoisellles, had a lovely day there the sun shone and it was
beautiful.
Agreed. Super sharp and detailed shot of the main subject.
You might take a look at the background though and maybe tone down some of the brighter elements as they tend to draw the eye away from the subject imo.

but now that you mention it the brighter reeds are a bit overpowering.

Hi Shutterbug that’s a beautiful shot, very clear, great focusing and detail on the wings. Reds in the background are always a problem, they are so distracting but you certainly have captured something magnificient there.

Thanks everyone, I was willing him to land facing me but wasnt to be,
he kept flying round and coming back to the same reed so it was easy
to set up the shot……….tripod paid off worth lugging around with you.
There was a second one with beautiful turquoise and green colouring
but just wouldnt land at all. Maybe next time!
