Took this on Newcastle beach on Sun morning. I can’t make my mind up if I like or not? C&C welcome

it def. has or had potential. Theres alot of black at the bottom. But im not sure if a tighter crop (top and bottom) would even work. Maybe!?

I personally think it screams to be cropped into a more panoramic format.
Really nice silhouette & colours in the sky. I’d think I’d be inclined to crop away some of the blackness from the bottom of the image. The wooden posts help lead the eye further into the image – good composition.

I agree with Steven about the crop.

Now I see it, what did I , or you, do? Lovely colours, foreground a bit dark?

Here’s a cropped version, no other changes were made to it.

Nice pic Brian, but what are thoes lines? Is it the lens or is it something that happens when taking shots of a sunrise?

    Hi Equinox,
No the banding is caused by me compressing the photo too much for up loading to PBase.com. My full size image is smooth. The version on my PC is something like 5Mb while the one on PBase is about 10Kb, hence losing some details.

    PS. I note you’re from D5, me too. The Sheaf o’ Wheat is only a 5min walk….

Ah the Sheaf o’Wheat. Memories. Previously D5 myself, long time ago though. Few members here now from around that locality. Great image by the way, crop definitely improves it.

    Rob.
