Sunrise at Loughcrew

Hello, I was hoping to get some advice on these photos! Both were taken at sunrise, and I’d love any suggestions/criticisms to help me improve them/my work in the future!
The first one is loughcrew. I was playing with the foreground and trying to figure out if keeping it darker or making it lighter worked best – any suggestions? The more I look at it I feel like I should have stuck with the original lighter version…
Similar debate with this one at Bective, whether or not to keep the ruins mostly silhouetted or to bring out the detail of that and the grass. I would lean towards bringing out the detail, but I’m wondering if I did too much?
Any suggestions/advice/critiques are much appreciated! Thanks! :)
grumpy1ParticipantpetehillMemberI agree with you on the first image. I think the foreground could be brighter and also you might try cropping in so as to loose a bit of the foreground and some the empty sky on top. Give it a go and see how it looks. As for the second image, I think he mid is bright enough but again I would crop most of he grass in front and the sky above. The colours behind the large tree are amazing and the mist in the trees to the left is great as well. I just think those details are getting a bit lost with so much empty space above and below. Repost if you make any changes, I’d be interested to see how they turn out.
tatianamMemberThanks!
Thank you for the advice – I gave it another go, here they are. I did use a different program so the edits may be a bit different – I did the first two while playing around with a free trial but I ran out of that so I re-did it in my normal editing program! I opted to do an unusual wider corp on the Bective one as I do like the skyline part! I do like that crop better on Bective, not sure about the first but I do like it lighter I think.
