LoGillParticipantWelcome to the forum Joe, Hope you enjoy it .. :D
Lovely Image.. You’ve captured the colours wonderfully :) And personally I really like your composition of the scene.
It could do with a smidge more contrast – maybe a curves or levels adjustment IMO.Very nice shot though !

RobMemberCracking capture Joe, love the scale of the walkers in relation to the overall scene. Great colours as Lorraine already mentioned, though I’d agree that maybe a touch more contrast might improve.
Rob.
RobertoMemberNice, relaxing photo.
One minute longer and you would have some nice shadows of the couple.irishlensParticipantVery pleasing image. The dynamic range is also very good in this shot consider it was shot
with digital. How did you meter the shot ?–Ian
Joe BTParticipantI took a few (5 or 6 IIRC) ‘spot’ readings and averaged them out & set the camera on manual, being careful to not blow the highlights (the graduated filter helped keep the brighter sky in check) & took a few – checked the histogram image on back of camera. Shot in RAW to give me the best possible ‘post-processing’ options.
When I first started viewing at home & increased the contrast & saturation to get more ‘punch’, but ended up resetting them ‘flat’ as I preferred it that way & there was still enough contrast with the beach walkers to make them stand out well from the beach.
Then waited for the couple to walk past (they were walking a dog, but it was running just too far ahead of them to get them all in the shot  )
Many thanks for the comments.

AllinthemindParticipantLovely shot, I too would go for a boost to contrast and colour. (something like a 30% soft-light layer), also maybe vignette multiplly a touch to draw the eye to the central figures.
Love sunrise images.
