    Hi Ken,

Nice colour in the sky and the tree has a nice shape.
I’m not too sure about the forground.

    Is this this evening?
The reason I ask is that I went out this evening and ended
up with similar sky colour and a foreground that looks a
    little like this.
I don’t have grad for balancing the sky and the forground was
    too dark.
I tried to lighten and sort a bit of detail with Elements but it looked
very like your forground and I didn’t particularly like how it looked.

Be interested to hear what you think.

    Sorry for rambling.

    John.

    Hi John,

it was last evening, and we have ended up with the same type of picture. I quite like the tha fcat that the foreground is not in shadow, but I agree
it looks poor, mainly because the shape and texture are all wrong.

What does it for me is the pastel sky, and the reflection from the water. Plus this view is of Cork harbour, and covers an actual distance of about
2 miles, which I hope I captured reasonably well.

All in all, I’d rate it at about 50% on my scale! :)
