These are very nice, I think in the first shot you could have zoomed in a bit further. My favourite would be number two, great timing and well composed.

thanks dave, yeah I see what you mean, about zooming in , the downside is they are not as sharp as I would like so I was kinda going for the long shot with the wave to cover that up. I was bloody cold, those guys were freezing

    Easkey?

I like pic two. Nice critical moment. The first, neither he nor the wave are at much and the 3rd is just pulled that bit too far.

    beasley, yeah easky right,

dessie, i took some shots of the water, waves, surf etc, and basically looked at them in the screen and adjusted shutter/exposure/iso until it looked ok, I was generally trying to keep a high shutter speed to freeze the moment, but also a small app so I had better depth of field
    I was using a monopod

the info from the images are
    1 60d cosina 100-400 f5 lens at 133 mm ? iso 400 f16 1/500

    2 eos 60d, cosina 100-400 f5 lens at 400mm iso 400 f14 1/500

    3 60d 100 – 400 at 133 f 10 ?? iso 400 1/500

not sure if it helps you
