Decided to give a go at doing a multi row panoramic shot 1:1 of a sycamore seed. This shot is made up from 65 shots stitched (13×5).

Interesting miki, stitched together seamlessly! Would that be like focus stacking?

    Thanks Jenny & Isabella.
Jenny: It is similiar to focus stacking except that you are shooting from side to side & then dropping down a bit to shoot another row. It would be cool if you could also focus stack each image, but I’d imagine it would create an enormous file size. The original file size for this was 22mb & my software struggled with it.
Isabella: I personally prefer the detailed shots, but the full size version of this is also fascinating to look at 100%. 17’306 x 6’619 pixels.

Very impressive indeed, even at this size the detail looks very good.

Are you using PS to stitch the 65 shots together ? and How are you lighting this ?

    Hi Mark.
I used Autopana giga to stitch them. The seed was lit by a ringflash directly 1/32 power. The seed was suspended on a long wire needle which was pushed through the background (Cardboard). I placed a small slave flash behind & below the seed to illuminate the background. :)
