I’m surprised no one has C&C’d this one yet. I like the shot and the conversion. Recurring patterns are a strong composition method … the arches and columns.

I’d have loved to see if it was possible to get the bottom of the lower back wall as a diagonal emerging from the lower left corner but I reckon it would have meant compromising a lot. My gut is telling me you made the right decision… any way … the columns make a nice lead in diagonal from the lower right.

BTW, I only bothered clicking on the link icon on my second viewing. I generally figure that if you can’t bother to place the photo in the post then I’m not going to bother opening a pop up web page.

The photo is great.. conversion, the combination of lights and shadows and the straight perspective of the structure. Probably it would be great too without that dark zone of the bottom. (Hope you understand me) :oops:

Joe, Glad you like the shot. I was just entering Collins Barracks museum, saw this and took a quick shot before I lost everyone I was with. I’m not sure that I fully understand what you’re saying about the bottom of the lower back wall though?

Erin, Thanks for the comments. I understand what you mean about the darm foreground. It might look nice with a crop to bring the bring more attention to the repetition of the arches and columns.
