Tallships In Waterford 2011
-
miki gParticipantshutterbugParticipant
I am not sure what days I will be there yet, but maybe a general meeting area should be
arranged? I dont know the town that well but if a venue could be named and then a time
say between 2 and 3 each day? Then if any members are there they can meet up.brownieParticipantFirst ship in about an hour ago…moored by The Plaza…hopefully the weather will stay settled.
Noel.
SeaviewParticipantNot looking good weather wise for Saturday, hopefully it might change before the weekend. Noel I believe the Celtic Mist was the first ship to arrive, the only Irish entry this year.
Dave.
steelydanParticipantyou can keep an eye on the ships here

Waterfiord is Grid 10 and you can “unclick” the trawlers and large ships on the left hand side, what you need clicked is sailing boats etc.
Just hold the mouse over the arows to see the ship name etc. Left Click on it will give you a photo and details.
damien.murphyParticipantAbsolutely fantastic atmosphere here since I arrived back yesterday. Effectively all of Waterford city centre is a pedestrianised zone, with food, drink and merriment to be had at every turn. Absolutely gargantuan effort put in by all involved, and in my mind tops anything else in recent memory in Waterford, including when the Tall Ships were here in ’05 and even Spraoi, which is saying something!
If anyone is still on the fence, I’d say go for it, as you’re missing a hell of a party otherwise. It really is a scene to behold, and spent much of yesterday with the camera in hand.In fact would post up some images, only for the fact a USB cable seems to be the token thing I left behind when packing, alas and must hunt another one down.
Quietly busy yesterday, but also comfortable. Expect things to ramp up quite a bit today, and even more by Saturday, before the ships leave early Sunday morning from Dunmore East.
To anyone around and interested in meeting, chime in with when you expect to be around in Waterford, and am sure we can arrange a meet up. I’ll be here through the weekend myself and think it would be cool to have a bit of a PI meet up!
SeaviewParticipantHi Damien.
I will be there tomorrow from around 9.30am until 3.00pm, I’d love to meet up if you can make it. I be the guy with a Canon 40D and a PI strap.
Dave.
damien.murphyParticipantHa ha, dropped you a pm with the mobile – I’ll be the crank mumbling about the crowds! ;-)
steelydanParticipantWont be there till after 3 pm myself, went down today at 10am and left at 5pm. back in at 7pm for O Emperor and The Waterboys and stayed for the fireworks at 11pm. Great event, very well organised, Absolute must for anyone interested. What else would you get for nothing???
