Both of these images I took on top of a mountain in Rostrevor. Thought it was interesting how the ground had started to swallow the car up. Not sure what kind of car it is, or even if it is a car. Must of been there a long time for there to be that extent of decomposition.

Think I might of overdone the sky a bit?

I don’t think the sky is overdone in either of them…not sure which one you were referring to. I really like the detail in the cracked mud in the first image. I think it’s probably the strongest of the two compositionally, but that car is really interesting. In the first one it almost looks like the grass has been desaturated a little bit…or maybe I’m just jaded by seeing too many images with oversaturated greens (including my own!).

Yeah, I have slightly desaturated both images.

    I like the first one.
Not sure about the second one. The subject is good but somethin is missing.

I like both images the first one has a lot more impact but the second had me interested for far longer(only my humble opinion). nice work :D

I’m nearly sure the engine remains is a Triumph Herald type. I had one of those many years ago. The missing bit is probably the rest of the body!!
    Good shot for the competition.

This is a great shot and I love the compisition. I really would love to get into this type of photography if I only knew how! I think the color works well with this, no point in bumping up the sat unless there really is something to bring out, the color gives it like an old feel which to me works well with the dying car.

Good job Conor – I think the second picture is stronger. The wreck add to the atmosphere and the composition.

To add to Nos’ comment I would have shot from the same level than the car in order to increase the importance of the sky.
